Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using CourtFinder ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App. CourtFinder is operated by Sands Technologies LLC ("we," "us," or "our").

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use CourtFinder. By using the App, you confirm you meet this requirement. Users under 18 must have parental or guardian consent.

3. User Accounts

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
• You may not share your account with others
• You must provide accurate information when creating a profile
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms

4. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Submit false, fraudulent, or manipulated game scores
• Create multiple accounts to manipulate rankings or Elo ratings
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other players
• Attempt to exploit, hack, or reverse-engineer the App
• Use bots, scripts, or automated tools to interact with the App
• Impersonate other players or real-world entities

Zero tolerance. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. You can report content and block other players in the App. We aim to act on reports within 24 hours by removing the content and/or suspending or removing the account responsible. Repeated or serious violations lead to a ban.

5. Game Integrity & Rankings

CourtFinder operates a competitive ranking system. To protect its integrity:

• Score reporting requires mutual confirmation by both teams
• Disputed results are flagged and may be reviewed
• Elo ratings are calculated server-side only — any attempt to manipulate ratings client-side is a violation of these Terms
• We reserve the right to adjust, reset, or remove ratings found to be fraudulently obtained
• Repeated violations may result in permanent account suspension

6. Payments

CourtFinder does not process payments. Any payment between players is:

• Entirely between players
• Not handled, processed, or guaranteed by Sands Technologies LLC

We are not responsible for any payment disputes between players.

7. Check-Ins & Location

• Check-ins are voluntary and user-initiated
• We do not track your location in the background
• Anonymous check-in data may be displayed publicly (e.g., active player counts)
• Authenticated check-ins display your username to other users at the same court

8. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, code, and design of CourtFinder is owned by Sands Technologies LLC. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission.

User-generated content (usernames, profile data) remains yours. By submitting it, you grant us a limited license to display it within the App.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently ban any account at our discretion for violations of these Terms, including but not limited to cheating, harassment, or Elo manipulation. No refund of any kind is owed upon termination.

10. Disclaimers

• CourtFinder is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
• We do not guarantee court availability, accuracy of player counts, or uptime
• We are not responsible for any injuries, disputes, or incidents that occur at physical basketball courts
• Playing basketball carries inherent physical risk — use the App at your own discretion

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sands Technologies LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of CourtFinder, including but not limited to payment disputes, ranking changes, or account suspensions.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Sands Technologies LLC is registered. Any disputes shall be resolved in that jurisdiction.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the App evolves. Each version is listed at the top of this page with its effective date. When we change these Terms materially, we will ask you to accept the new version in the App before you create or join games, report, dispute or check in.
